JTF Seizes Seven Suspects In Kano, Destroys Operational Buildings

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano today arrested seven suspects believed to belong to the Boko Haram sect, and rescued four women.
JTF spokesman, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, also told journalists that the force destroyed two residential structures in Farawa and Sheka localities that were believed to be housing militants who have been terrorising the city and the surrounding areas.  The suspects did not resist, and there were no casualties on either side.
Captain Iweha, who took reporters on a tour of the affected sites, told them that assorted weapons and communications gadgets were recovered from both buildings before they were destroyed.
He said that both buildings had been under intense observation, describing the midweek military operations as a product of “robust investigation.”
The following items were recovered:
•    One AK 47
•    46 Improvised Explosive Devises
•    32 Motorola phone communicators and 52 Motorola
•    Two laptop computers
